BBQ Competiton
This year we will include two categories. Ribs and Tri-Tip
Contest Rules:
- Entry: $75 per individual meat or $100 if entering both
- Check-in for team spaces will be available on Saturday as early as 5 am.
- All competitors will be judged on their Taste, Tenderness, and Presentation.
- Rib Teams competing will be responsible for providing 7 ribs for the competition plate
- Rib Teams will also be responsible for 2 additional slabs for the People’s Choice competition**
- Tri-Tip teams competing are responsible for submitting 7 slices of Tri-Tip for the competition plate
- Tri-Tip teams are responsible for an additional Tri-Tip to compete in the People’s Choice competition**
- Cooking types including Charcoal, Pellet, Wood & Propane are allowed.
- Competitors are responsible for bringing canopies and seating for your cooking area.
- All competitors will be provided a 10’x 10′ space. Larger spaces will be available by request.
- Power is available upon request.
- Blind judging will take place at
Ribs: 12 Noon Turn in 11:40-11:50
Tri-Tip: 12:30 pm Turn In 12:10-12:20
- Awards presentation will take place at 2pm in Nunley Hall
- Cash prizes will be awarded to each top score from the judges in the Rib & Tri-Tip category.
- Trophies will be awarded to the top two scorers from the judges in each category.
- A People Choice award will also be given in each category.
- 1st place prize packages will be a combination of cash and prizes valued near $400
** A portion of the proceeds from the People’s Choice competition will go toward the Maxi Parks Center’s backpack drive
